Missing people in Japan

Every year in Japan, approximately 80,000 people go missing.

Just in 2016, 84,850 missing person reports were filed—of which 83,865 of the missing were found.

The number of missing elderly people (aged 70 and over) in 2016 also dramatically increased by 18% over the previous year’s amount.
